Newt on a stick

Fair food review:
Tater Tot Hot Dish on a stick - Thumbs up! I will get this next year
Wild Rice Corn Dog - ehhhh, I'd stick with regualar corn dog
Deep Fried Chocolate Chip Cookie on a stick - First off, no stick, secondly, this is tasty only if you love super gooey cookies - more like warm cookie dough.
Kettle Corn - Ok, not new, or anything special, but in Heritage Square I got the best Kettle Corn I have ever had!

See pictures of our day at the fair here.

I posted a little bit more about my Aunt and Uncle over the weekend so if you didn't catch it, read the post below this one.

Days till we leave for my own personal blog con: 2

After all the corn dogs and mini-donuts yesterday, today I'm craving fresh vegetables like crazy.

Tigre, I have to confess, Pictures or not, I am a little crazy, a littel off-tilt. But life is more interesting from that perspective. :-)

J - Had some whole grain cereal for breakfast and had a HUGE salad for lunch. I'm trying to apologize to my body today.

LOVED the pics. I'm so glad you were able to snag a digital before the trip. Although I think my arteries clogged just looking at all that fried goodness :).

Instead of coming home from Iowa I should have just driven north to the state fair! What fun. I thought the chocolate chip cookies on a stick sounded good at first. But, now I'm not so sure.

I love, LOVE all those cardboard stands were you can put your own head through the opening. Those are always so much fun. I also love the ones where you can stand next to a life sized cardboard cut-out of a famous person. I used to have one of me copping a feel of Madona. Great stuff. LOL

Great photos! So THAT's what kettle corn is. I have heard of it but didn't really know what it was. I don't get out much.

I'm glad everyone is enjoying the photos. They were taken on a $12. camera on clearance at Target. It's made by Philips, it's smaller than a cell phone and honestly it takes pretty lousy pictures. I deleted more than I kept. (there is no view screen so you don't know till you download what the picture looks like) But it seems to handle close up's pretty well. The goal was to be able to show everyone food on a stick and bless it's little heart, those pictures came out just fine. I figured it would be cheaper to try it than to buy a throw away and get those developed. Plus it takes me 2-3 months to take film in for developing and by then, it's too late. So, I'm happy to hear you are enjoying the photos. We had more fun taking the pictures - the only thing we forgot was the cheese curds.

Betty, just so you know the particulars: Kettle Corn is made in a huge iron kettle. It is a mixture of salty and sweet. Some, not all of the popcorn has a very very light carmel like coating. And usually you can get it piping hot out of the kettle. I think it is one of those foods that people either love or hate. There isn't much in between. But if you like the combo of sweet and salty you will probably love kettle corn.

Oh, and Jay, and anyone else interested, the MN state fair is always 12 days. The last day being Labor Day. It's worth the trip.

I am so hungry. Tater Tot Hot Dish on stick--that looked pretty darn good. But I'm with Jay, I'm not so sure about the chocolate chip cookies anymore. Loved the pics, too.

I love Kettle Corn, too, but I only like it at fairs. I've had the microwave stuff and from stores, but it just isn't the same. I love that sweet and salty combination.
