I would have been a great hippie

I think I could have easily embraced a nomadic lifestyle.

All my possessions in my van

Flowy cotton clothing

Sandals and little sunglasses

Dancing to the rhythms of life

I could have wandered

Lived in different towns

Stayed in some, moved on in other's

Read endlessly

Or discussed peace and love

No thoughts of violence

Except where the gov't was concerned

And then fighting for what I believed in

Having the will to stand up to everything that was wrong with the world

Bravely facing down and questioning authority

And when it was done, heading back on the road

Making love and dancing

Yes, I could have been a hippie
